The German Centre for Cardiovascular Research has approved a 1 Mio Euro grant application from the Institute for Experimental and Translational Cardiovascular Imaging, Frankfurt to develop and validated novel techniques based on CMR in patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). HFpEF is one of the leading causes of death and hospitalization in the Western world with no effective therapy. The programm intends to provide diagnostic tools to better understand the disease and thus provide a path to individualized therapy.
